Motorcycle for Trial in Portugal
Motorcycles for trial are characterized by narrow specialization and low weight - and practically have no analogs among other off-road bikes. Their main purpose is to smoothly overcome the most difficult obstacles - both natural and man-made. For example, jumping onto the tops of cliffs or high walls, balancing on the sides of huge tires or fallen trees.
Sometimes you can find trial models with an electric motor instead of a conventional engine. But in such versions, the operating time is shorter, which makes them not very popular among fans of this direction.
But considering that electric motors weigh an order of magnitude less than analog engines, it is not excluded that in the future they will firmly take first place in the use in such bikes.
Features of Trial Motorcycle Operation
The key feature of trial is the explosive nature of the engine at low speeds, but without a desire to rev up to the limit. The engine's insane torque, coupled with instant acceleration, allows you to pull away from a standstill and quickly gain the necessary speed, and along with the transmission, such a bike is capable of impressive things.
In the first 3 gears, the maximum speeds are 4, 6, and 8 km/h - they are needed for the most difficult sections. The 4th, 5th, and 6th gears differ significantly from each other. The 4th speed is approximately the same as the 1st on most off-road bikes - it is suitable for storming steep climbs. On the 6th, the bike calmly travels at a speed of 60-80 km/h - it can be used for traveling from the training ground to home.
Most of the time, trial is not intended for high-speed riding, maximum 60-80 km/h comfortably on hard roads and up to 40 km/h off-road. This is also not facilitated by the gearbox and too large a gap between speeds, you have to either barely crawl or fly. But the ability of the engine to accelerate from a standstill to the 6th gear is really impressive, allowing you to confidently and easily move towards the destination point.
Short-travel and soft suspensions, compared to other off-road bike models, will not allow you to bump into protruding rocks at speed. But thanks to the ability to instantly accelerate and jump, you can easily ride along a rocky shore or jump over logs, bumps, and more.
To adapt a motorcycle for trial for long-distance travel, the installation of an additional tank is available, and as an option - an auxiliary seat. Of course, you won't get a touring bike, but it's something. In terms of fuel consumption, the native tank has a capacity of up to 3 liters, which is enough for 100 km of calm driving, and for twisting and steep turns - about 1.5 hours of engine work.
Trial is an ideal bike for training...
Above all, it is an excellent trainer for learning and improving driving skills. It is really easy to learn on it - this is not hindered by the explosive nature of the engine and its ability to "shoot" sharply. In fact, it is very obedient and smoothly controlled by the throttle, and the use of a convenient air clutch allows you to very accurately meter the traction on the rear wheel.
Despite its peculiarity, a motorcycle for trial is the best option both for beginners' training and for training professionals. It is the best teacher for getting acquainted with extreme motorcycle driving.
